On 1/11/2019 at approximately 7:30 AM, a hit and run occurred at the intersection of Ritner Highway and Orange Street. The complainant observed a dark-colored vehicle passing them on the left side, over a marked double-yellow line, while traveling east further into the borough by way of the Ritner Highway. A brief exchange of spiteful hand gestures and other expressions occurred between the victim and the suspect at the intersection. The suspect's vehicle drifted backward and struck the victim's car while stopped at the intersection. The suspect then recklessly sped off and ran the red light, not fulfilling his duty to stop and render aid or provide his insurance information.
The victim observed the license plate and alerted Carlisle Police immediately. Through the course of the investigation, Carlisle Police determined that Jordon P. Gleim of Newville was the driver of the striking vehicle.
Gleim has been charged with 75 3743 a - Accidents involving damage to attended vehicle or property, 75 3736 - Reckless driving, 75 3744 a - Duty to give information and render aid, 75 3112 a3i - Traffic-control signals and 75 3307 b - No-passing zones
