On Thursday 10/20/2022 at approximately 4:30am, an officer on patrol witnessed a large box truck style commercial vehicle leave the roadway and strike several fixed objects. The commercial vehicle was being operated by the accused, Timothy HARE, and was traveling east in the 800 block of E High St. The vehicle left the roadway near the intersection of Spruce St, straddling the curb and continued to travel east partially off the roadway. The vehicle struck two street signs before coming to rest, after impacting a fire hydrant and traffic light support pole at the intersection to the entrance of the Point at Carlisle Plaza.
The officer found HARE still inside the cab of the commercial vehicle with injuries sustained in the collision. EMS transported HARE to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries. During the investigation, HARE was found to have controlled substances in his bloodstream.
HARE has been charged with two counts of Driving Under the Influence Controlled Substances, Possession Small Amount Marijuana, and five additional Vehicle Code violations related to the crash investigation.
