On Friday, June 16, 2017 at approximately 1500 hours Carlisle Police were dispatched to a robbery that had just occurred in the parking lot of the Super 7 located at 330 North Hanover Street. Officers spoke with the victim on scene who advised a black male had just pushed him in the chest and stole his wallet containing $8.75. The victim provided police with a description and with the use of surveillance footage from the parking lot and inside the store, the male suspect was identified as Howard Tyrone McLean Jr.
Officers located McLean shortly after in the 100 block of North Pitt Street where he was taken into custody and a total of $10.25 was located inside his pants pocket.
McLean was transported to Cumberland County Prison for processing and arraignment on the charges of robbery, theft by unlawful taking, and harassment.
