On October 21, 2018 at 1325 hours the Carlisle Police responded to a report of a disabled vehicle in the roadway on S West St at W Willow St. responding officers did in fact find a vehicle sitting in the middle of the intersection with a female behind the wheel. Police originally believed the driver was suffering from some type of medical emergency but further investigation revealed that the driver, later identified as Julia Myers, was intoxicated. Myers was transported to UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle Emergency Room for treatment.
On October 24, 2018 the Carlisle Police executed a Search Warrant on the medical records for Myers held by UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle and determined that at the time of the incident Myers' BAC was .356%.
Based on the investigation, Myers was sent a summons for the charges of DUI (2 counts) and a summary traffic offense.
