On Wednesday, 9/23/2020, at about 12:38 hours, Carlisle Fire Department and mutual aid companies responded to 412 W South Street, Carlisle, PA for the report of a house fire. First arriving units discovered a working fire at the rear of the second floor. The fire extended into the attic and consumed part of the slate roof. The Fire Department extinguished the fire without further incident. The fire investigation revealed the fire originated in the area of the second floor, rear bathroom. Due to the extent of damage, the cause of the fire was undetermined. However, investigators could not rule out an electrical fire cause. There were no reported injuries and the damage was estimated at $400,000.
