Carlisle Police and Walmart team up for child safety

Recently the Carlisle Police Department participated in a statewide initiative educating drivers on the commonwealth's safety restraint system laws. During the month long program, officers made several contacts with operators who had children either improperly restrained, or not restrained at all while traveling in vehicles. In addition, police responded to several crashes involving children. If a child safety seat is utilized during a collision, it is recommended that it be replaced rather than being reused. With the assistance of Walmart, Carlisle Police were able to obtain two child safety seats that can be lent out to operators allowing them time to purchase a safety seat for their precious cargo. A big THANK YOU goes out to Walmart for assisting the Police Department in keeping the children in the community safe.

On behalf of the citizens of Carlisle and the Carlisle Police department we wish to thank Walmart for their continued support of our community. Thank You

Chief Landis
