Student Arrested for Threats at Cedar Cliff High School

On 2/23/18, in the late afternoon, Lower Allen Township Police were contacted regarding threats made by a student.
The student, a juvenile attendee at Cedar Cliff, was among several students that were conversing about the recent school shooting in Florida.  The juvenile is reported to have stated that he was going to “shoot up the school” and threatened to kill anyone who told on him.
Upon being made aware of the threat by witnesses, the school district began its investigation into the matter and subsequently contacted police.
Police, school officials, and juvenile probation responded to the residence, a Camp Hill address in Wormleysburg Borough, to speak with the juvenile suspect.  Once a parent was present, a BB gun was recovered from the residence.  The juvenile was subsequently interviewed, placed under arrest, and transported to a juvenile detention facility.
The student faces charges of Terroristic Threats, Harassment, and Disorderly Conduct.  The student also faces disciplinary action from the West Shore School District.
Lower Allen Township Police emphatically assert that all threats will be fully investigated and, where prosecution is possible, it will be to the fullest extent of the law.  Statements and actions of a threatening nature are condemned in the strongest of terms.  The fear, anxiety, and disruption caused is unacceptable and will be dealt with firmly.

The police department appreciates all who have come forward with information in recent investigations into threats and encourages immediate reporting to authorities.  The department asks that, when a threat is seen on social media, every effort be made to preserve that information using screen shots or other means available to the recipient.  Police need your help to facilitate continued, rapid follow-up and swift response to this type of activity.
