On October 23, 2019 at 3:10 am, the Camp Hill Borough Police Department were dispatched to a report of a suspicious person in the area of 32nd Street and Market Street. It was advised that a vehicle drove around the convenience store four times without their headlights on. The store clerk believed the individual was going to rob the store. The vehicle was located by Camp Hill Borough Police at Cumberland Parkway and 21st Street and failed to stop. Camp Hill Borough PD pursued the vehicle as it drove a short distance into East Pennsboro Township. At that point, East Pennsboro Township Police took over the pursuit. The vehicle was traveling at a 90 mph on Route 11/15 through West Fairview which is a posted 35 mph zone. The suspect continued into Perry County and continued at speeds over 100 mph. The driver was clearly observed and identified as John Edward Meyers, 65, with a last known address of the 100 block of West Ore Street, Loganville. At this time the pursuit was called off. The East Pennsboro Township Police obtained a warrant for Meyers for Fleeing or attempting to elude police officer and Recklessly endangering another person. Meyers was apprehended and will face a preliminary hearing before MDJ Sanderson.
