On 20 December 2019, a bad check case was received from Member's 1st Federal Credit Union fraud investigation department. Member's 1st FCU headquarters is located in Lower Allen Township, 5000 Louise Dr, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
On 28 August 2019, Brian Hill, III, remote deposited check #248 for $1,000.00 into his Members 1st account. The check was from the Metro Bank account of Yvonette Hill, which was then returned non sufficient funds on 6 September 2019. Between the date of deposit and date of return, Brian Hill withdrew all of the funds over several ATM withdrawal transactions. Total loss to Members 1st with fees of $1,050.00.
Upon Members 1st being notified of the NSF of the check, Brian and Yvonette were contacted. Yvonette returned her voicemail on 9 September 2019, explaining that she was unaware she did not have enough funds, but was notified by Metro Bank that her account is in the negative. Yvonette advised she would make payments and speak with Brian about getting the funds in the account. As of 24 September 2019, neither party contacted Members 1st, nor was payment received. 10-day letter mailed certified and regular mail, however the certified mail was returned unclaimed in 16 Oct 2019.
Charges were filed on Hill and she failed to show up for her hearing. A warrant has been issued. Warrant served.
