On May 28, 2019 a theft was reported from Keystone Oil, 1600 Hummel Avenue, Lower Allen Township. The company had noted a large theft of cash by an employee during the time of his employment. The employee was identified as Michael Poorman. Poorman was employed by Keystone Oil and had the task of closing deals and collecting the balance of the payment owed. The company was made aware of a problem in billing when two customer's accounts were questioned causing an internal audit.
It was discovered that Poorman had set up a SQUARE account that received payment from Keystone Oil customers. This was not authorized by Keystone Oil Company. Other thefts were discovered. Poorman tended to only steal from the company when the funds collected came from credit card (put to square and not to the company) or in cash payments which could be easily held and not reported.
It was reported that the thefts would be perpetrated by Poorman upon the collection of the funds to close the account. Funds were either sent to the square account held by Poorman and/or withheld by Poorman in the cash money cases. Fraudulent invoices were created by Poorman to conceal the theft. Total value of the money stolen was discovered to be $56,149.66. This was found to have started in 2018 and continued through May 2019 when he separated from the company.
Arrest warrant served.
