The Lower Allen Township Police Department received a report of a retail theft from Walmart. On January 3, 2021 around 8:18 AM, a 2012 BMW X5 arrived in the lot and parked in front of the entrance. The male driver entered the store, grabbed a cart and walked directly back towards the kitchen and household goods section. He then picked up a blender and a mixer valued at $168 and exited the store without paying for the merchandise. He put the items in the vehicle and left the lot around 8:25 AM.
The vehicle was found to be registered to Julian Amway. Officers found that Amway is the suspect for other retail thefts in the area. In one of the other thefts, he was wearing almost the same clothing that was observed by watching video surveillance of the retail theft at Walmart. The video showed an average height light skin black male wearing a black balaclava, black hoodie with white lettering on right arm and left chest, ripped jeans and dark colored boots. Amway also used the same vehicle during the other thefts.
Amway's criminal history shows at least 17 prior convictions for retail theft and his driver history shows that he is suspended related to a DUI. Charges have been filed and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
