On September 19, 2021 at 10:06 PM, the Lower Allen Township Police Department was dispatched to Walmart, 3400 Hartzdale Drive, in reference to non active retail thefts. Video revealed that on September 16th around 6:45 PM, the suspect took the following items without paying for them:
Black Comforter Set (Bed in a Bag) valued at $36.96
Bluetooth Receiver (CD Head Unit) valued at $59.87
Two Bluetooth Mini Speakers (681131309851 UPC) valued at $14.88 each
two Headphones (JBUDS Air B) valued at $49.88 each
Refrigerator (1.7 C.F. BLK) valued at $79.00, Vizio TV (40 VZ TV) valued at $246.00
Computer (ACER DT BNDL) valued at $549.00 for a total value of $1,100.35.
The suspect exited the store without paying for the merchandise and entered a red Chrysler mini van bearing a PA registration, which came back to an address in Harrisburg, PA.
During a follow up investigation, the van was located in the apartment complex parking lot of the registered owner's address. A male later identified as Thomas Leon Davis III, was observed walking away from the vehicle. Davis stopped and spoke with officers about the vehicle. Davis was informed of the vehicles involvement in a retail theft and how he resembled the suspect. Davis was shown a still photograph from Walmart video surveillance of the incident and he acknowledged "that's my bald head."
Through further conversation Davis admitted to stealing from Walmart and informed officers he had been sent there with a list of items to steal. He retrieved one of the stolen items from inside the van and returned it to the officers.
Charges were filed and an arrest warrant has been obtained.
