On September 11, 2019 at 2:09 PM, the Lower Allen Township Police Department was dispatched to the area of Deerfield Road for a theft. The theft was reported by a contractor, who was closing a pool at a nearby residence.
Officers arrived on scene and saw Corey Heffren walking away from the area. Contact was made with the victim, who said that Heffren was the suspect. The victim was actually working at Heffren's mother's residence. The victim stated he had a work vehicle and trailer parked at the residence where he had the items stored. He explained that Heffren had been outside in the backyard with the workers and that Heffren had been hanging around in a suspicious manner. The victim said that he did not see Heffren go into his truck but was sure it was him who stole the items. The victim also told officers that when he told Heffren about the stolen items, Heffren became increasingly defensive without actually being accused. The victim then asked Heffren to stay around to talk to police and Heffren declined.The victim stated that items valued at $250 were stolen from his work vehicle.
Contact was made with Heffren, who denied the theft. Heffren's mother was contacted and she gave consent to search her residence for the stolen items. The stolen items were recovered in Heffren's room by his mother. Heffren was then taken into custody and interviewed by officers. Heffren confessed to stealing the items.
