On August 29, 2018, a check was remotely deposited into member Shawn Ogelvee's account for $957. Thirty-eight minutes later, another remote check deposit was completed with the same check number, now in the amount of $972.
Both checks returned on the 30th as counterfeit, causing Member's First Federal Credit Union a loss of $977.08. A certified 10-day demand letter was sent on but returned unclaimed. Charges were filed, but Ogelvee failed to show up for his hearing. An arrest warrant has been issued.
