Middlesex Township Police Department are warning people of scam phone calls soliciting money. Police report that they have received numerous calls afternoon from people reporting that officers from that department have been calling them about obtaining credit cards to pay on fines and warrants. The scammers have so far as to mention a previously employed officer by name another identifying themselves as the "Captain" of the police department. Middlesex Twp Police advise that they have no "Captain" and are not calling anyone asking for gift cards or bank account information to pay on fines or warrants. Police wish to advise the public and tell them NOT TO GIVE OUT any money or personal information to anyone claiming to be from the police department.
