An Amber Alert was issued 6/5/22 at 1710 HRS. At approximately 1743 HRS, 34 year old Jacob KISER of Shippensburg reported to emergency services that he observed the wanted vehicle running two red lights on E. King St. and was last seen heading south on Rt. 11. KISER provided the registration he observed on said vehicle which matched the vehicle related in the Amber Alert. Four officers from the Shippensburg Police immediately responded. One officer used lights and sirens travelling all the way down to Chambersburg in search of the vehicle with negative results. Other police agencies in Franklin County, along with the Pennsylvania State Police were alerted as a result of KISER's information. A short time later, the Amber Alert was cancelled as the child and vehicle had been recovered in Philadelphia. During the investigation it was determined through the use of traffic cameras that KISER could not have seen any vehicle run two red lights at intersections he claimed nor could he have read the actual registration of the vehicle directly involved from the location he claimed to be at (100 block of E. King St.) As a result, KISER was arrested and charged with M1 False Alarms and M2 False Reports. He was taken to Cumberland County Prison for arraignment.
