SP-2019-0957 UPDATE (October 4, 2019)
On Friday, October 4, 2019, at 11:15 hours, Darby SCOTT, with the presence of his attorney, surrendered himself before Magisterial District Judge (MDJ) H. Anthony ADAMS to be arraigned. MDJ ADAMS set bail at $100,000. SCOTT was unable to post bail therefore he was committed to Cumberland County Prison. A preliminary hearing is scheduled before MDJ ADAMS on Monday, October 7, 2019 at 3:30 PM.
As a result of a death investigation initiated on Sunday, March 3, 2019, charges were filed today (Wednesday, October 2, 2019) against a Darby SCOTT and Moises SEGURA. The death was a result of a drug overdose where SCOTT and SEGURA provided the drug.
Logan LYNCH, the victim, and SCOTT were together during the early morning hours of Sunday, March 3, 2019. The two were at the Sheetz Convenience Store (359 East King Street, Shippensburg) at approximately 4:30 AM. SCOTT met up with SEGURA and purchased heroin. When the victim and SCOTT left Sheetz, SCOTT provided the victim with his packet of heroin and they both ingested into their body. As the two continued to walk, SCOTT lost contact with the victim and was later found in the area where SCOTT lost contact with the him.
Charges have been filed with Magerstiral District Judge H. Anthony ADAMS and warrants have been secured for both SCOTT and SEGURA. Charges filed were: Drug delivery resulting in death, delivery of a controlled substance, and Involuntary Manslaughter.
