Retail theft

On 3/16/16 at 0411 HRS, Shippensburg Police were summoned to Sheetz, 359 E. King St. for a Retail theft.  Joseph Robert BRENIZE of College Ave, Chambersburg, PA was seen picking 14 items off the shelves then heading towards the men's room.  An employee saw him and told him he couldn't take merchandise to the rest room.  BRENIZE then put his backpack on a counter next to his items but couldn't conceal the items due to the employee watching.  BRENIZE placed the items on a cooler and waited at the entrance.  When he thought nobody was watching he concealed 3 candy bars in his pocket and exited the store.  When he saw the employee coming after him he threw the items in the trash.  Another employee was watching his activity on the surveillance system.  BRENIZE was located a block away and was arrested, charged with Retail theft.
