PRESS RELEASE- ADVISORY:

Important information regarding a School Emergency Exercise

The Shippensburg Area School District will be conducting an emergency exercise at the Shippensburg Area Middle School.  THIS IS ONLY A DRILL.

Date/Time:      Monday, October 9, 2017   7:00AM-NOON

Location:         Shippensburg Area Middle School

Road Closures: Eberly Drive between Rowe Road and Baker/Russell Drive

The purpose of this drill is to enable school staff and first responders an opportunity to practice their responses to an immediate threat in a school setting.  This drill is a result of nearly a year of collaboration and planning between the school district administration and first responders.  We believe that the drill will provide opportunities to test plans and that our students and staff will be safer as a result.

Please be aware that we have informed as many agencies and individual persons as possible about the drill.  We also encourage you to notify your employees and/or neighbors, so that there is no confusion, and that this is ONLY A DRILL.  As a result of the exercise, several road closings will occur around the middle school from 7:00AM until NOON, on October 9, 2017
