Seeking Police Chief

The Borough of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania (Cumberland and Franklin County) is seeking applications for the position of Police Chief. The Chief manages a department of nine (9) full time officers. The Chief is a working chief meaning that he or she will be expected to engage in patrol activities. Salary negotiable; commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The applicant must be community-focused and have the leadership, management, and people skills to maintain and advance the department’s standing as a progressive, professional, and innovative police agency.

Applicants must have a minimum of twelve (12) years of law enforcement experience in the state of Pennsylvania as a Municipal or State Police Officer, including a minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience holding the rank of Corporal or higher. "Must have prior work experience in administration management Skills, and budgeting."

A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. The candidate must have a valid PA operator’s license and be certified by MPOETC and possess a current Act 120 certification or be capable of becoming certified.
