On Monday, October 23, 2017 around 5:30pm the West Shore Regional Police were dispatched for a Robbery call at Memorial Park. When officers arrived, they spoke with the victim who advised that had come to the park to meet up with the suspect who the victim thought was going to buy some items from him. When the suspect arrived, he struck the victim several times causing minor injuries. He then took cash and a watch from the victim and threw the victim's cell phones on the ground damaging them.
The suspect was identified as 19 year old Mohamed Moustafa Ali from the 1st block of Chestnut Street, Lower Allen Twp. A warrant of arrest was obtained for Ali who was found at his residence and taken into custody. Ali was transported to the Cumberland County Prison where he was processed and charged with Robbery, Simple Assault, Theft by Unlawful Taking, and Criminal Mischief.
Ali was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Birbeck and committed to the Cumberland County Prison on $99,000.00. A Preliminary Hearing has been scheduled for Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 12:45pm in front of Magisterial District Judge Elizabeth Beckley.
