On Monday, June 17, 2019 a West Shore Regional Police Department Officer was conducting a routine patrol of Negley Park located in Lemoyne Borough. The officer discovered a vehicle within the park after closing time. While investigating, a male later identified as Charles McKinley COOK, JR. approached the officer. The officer began to speak with COOK, JR. who provided false identification. When officer(s) attempted to take him into custody, he attempted to jump back into his vehicle. While this was occurring a loaded firearm fell from COOK, JR's waistband. The firearm was later found to be stolen out of York County, Pennsylvania. COOK, JR. was taken into custody and found to be a person not to possess a firearm.
