WEST SHORE REGIONAL POLICE AND WEST SHORE BUREAU OF FIRE WORKING TOGETHER

To all the residents of the Boroughs of Lemoyne and Wormleysburg:

I am not sure if everyone saw the recent post made by the West Shore Bureau of Fire earlier this date but here is the text:

"Just after 0130 this morning Co 13 and 1st alarm units were dispatched to the Bridgeport Apartments on the 900 block of Bosler for a reported apartment fire with entrapment. West Shore Regional Police arrived on scene and confirmed a working fire and one patient trapped in the fire apartment. PD made entry into the apartment and found and removed one victim. The squad laid a line from the hydrant to side A of the structure. Crews from the Squad and Engine pulled one line to extinguish the fire that was held to the apartment of origin. We would like to recognize the WSRPD officers for putting themselves in harms way to save the life of the resident. They entered the fire building with no protective gear. Our hats are off to our brothers in blue. Great job to all those involved."  (Photo credit: Steve Stilo Jr.)

As the Chief of Police I would like to recognize not only the Officers involved in this incident, Patrol Officer Benjamin Mauchamer and Corporal Daniel Hair, but our entire agency.  My/Our Officers come to work day in and day out and every single one of them are willing to put their lives on the line to protect and/or to save a citizen or visitor of our great communities.  I would also like to recognize that the West Shore Bureau of Fire is a volunteer service that is committed to serving both communities every day of the week including weekends and holidays.  Both agencies works as a team to make sure our communities are well protected.

The West Shore Regional Police Department and the West Shore Bureau of Fire is here to serve both Lemoyne and Wormleysburg Boroughs and the staffs of both Departments are committed and dedicated to providing professional services to all.

Chief Michael L. Hope
