Sehighya Smith has been charged in connection to a child abduction incident and investigation that occurred Wednesday, August 13th.  At approximately 5:25 PM, the Carlisle Police responded to 224 S Hanover St for the report of the abduction.  Smith is accused of leaving a supervised visitation with her 9 year old daughter, who is under the care and custody of Cumberland County Children & Youth Services.  Smith left this location with her daughter without expressed permission and fled the area.  Information obtained during the initial investigation led officers to believe that the child would be in danger if she remained in the custody of Smith.  Information on a vehicle registered to Smith was located and a broadcast was provided to police agencies in Cumberland and Dauphin Counties.  At approximately 7:30 PM, the Susquehanna Township Police Department located the vehicle with Smith and her daughter, at a hotel on N Front St.  The child was found unharmed.  Smith was taken into custody and turned over to Carlisle Police.
