Update - At approximately 8:17pm on 5/23/2025, Carlisle Police, Fire, and EMS responded to the report of a motor vehicle crash involving pedestrians.  Two pedestrians were struck in the collision, and one has passed away.  The vehicle operator has been arrested.  CPD identified and spoke with several witnesses, however we expect that additional individuals may have witnessed the incident.  We ask that anyone with information please contact us at 717-243-5252 or submit a tip through CRIMEWATCH.

The affected roads have been reopened, however some debris remains along the sidewalk and a pedestrian signal was damaged and remains inoperative.  Please exercise caution when traveling in the area.

Original Post - Carlisle Police are currently investigating a motor vehicle crash involving pedestrians at the intersection of S Hanover St and W Pomfret St. The investigation is in the preliminary stages at this time, and there is no update on the conditions of any involved parties. Vehicles and pedestrians are asked to avoid the area for the time being.
