It has come to our attention over social media there is concern over an incident Wednesday afternoon involving plain clothes police officers asking a resident about internet service. We want to confirm that the New Cumberland Police Department, in conjunction with the Cumberland County District Attorney's Office, is conducting a criminal investigation and those were legitimate police officers visiting the resident that day. While we are not at liberty to discuss the investigation, we do want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who expressed concern for their neighbors and strongly encourage anyone who feels something is out of the ordinary to please call the local police right away.
