Today we honor the life and services of New Cumberland Borough Chief of Police James A. Welch by wearing our police memorial band on our shields.

95 years ago today, on February 16, 1928, our department lost Chief James Welch when he was killed in the line of duty in an illegal alcohol still explosion.

His life and legacy will never be forgotten.
