On February 5, 2023 at approximately 09:00, the New Cumberland Police Department was dispatched to the 500 block of Brandt Avenue for an undetonated explosive device.  The device looked to be from the World War II era.  Several residents were displaced for a short period of time until the device was safely removed from the scene.  

PSP Hazardous Device and Explosives Section responded to the scene and took possession of the device for further analysis.  New Cumberland Fire Department assisted with traffic control until the incident was cleared.
