Carl RAFFERTY, 48 year old of Shermansdale, was arrested on Tuesday, February 25th 2020, after he fled from a traffic stop in a vehicle. Officers with the North Middleton Police Department attempted a traffic stop on RAFFERTY in the area of Post Road and the Harrisburg Pike for driving with a faulty tail light and suspicious behavior while driving. After the vehicle stopped, RAFFERTY accelerated and attempted to flee the scene of the traffic stop. Officers pursued and RAFFERTY crashed on train tracks and fled on foot into the golf course on the barracks. A perimeter was established and multiple units responded including Carlisle PD, Middlesex PD, Carlisle Barracks Military Police, Pennsylvania State Police, and the Sheriffs Office. Carlisle PD stopped an individual matching the description of the male who fled on foot. K-9 Pedro from the Carlisle PD K-9 unit was deployed to track the suspect. K-9 Pedro tracked the suspect to within feet of where the individual matching the description was stopped. Carl RAFFERTY was taken into custody and transported to Cumberland County Prison. A preliminary hearing will be scheduled at a later date.
