On Monday, March 27th 2023 at 6:28 PM, the North Middleton Police Department was dispatched to the area of Post Road for a single vehicle auto accident. Officers arrived on scene and conducted an investigation. It was determined this accident occurred as Unit 1 was travelling southbound on Post Road in the southbound lane. Unit 1 crested a hill at the beginning of the Army War Barracks fence on the right side to the southbound lane. Unit 1 failed to remain on the roadway as he crested the hill and subsequently sideswiped the aforementioned fence with the passenger side of his vehicle. Unit 1 then struck a fence post and the vehicle spun approximately 45 degrees. Unit 1 came to a rest facing westbound with the rear axle blocking the southbound lane of Post Road and the front bumper facing the same fence.
The operator of Unit 1 was identified as Sebastian Shultz, and he explained he was driving at a rate of speed of about 30 to 40 mph, and he did not realize the road crested and turned at the location of his crash. The posted speed limit on this road is 25 mph. Sebastian Shultz was subsequently cited for Careless Driving.
