On Monday, April 9th, Cumberland County commemorated Victims’ Rights Week by honoring victim service volunteers, law enforcement, and community members who have worked hard to instill trust in all victims – leading to recovery and survivorship.
The event was held at the Old Courthouse in Carlisle. Following a program of guest speakers and awards, they walked 1 mile through Carlisle in the hopes of bringing awareness to the community, remembering victims, and honoring survivors. It is the goal of the program to ensure that victims' rights are met, and all concerns and needs are addressed as they navigate through the court system.
North Middleton Township Police Departments, Detective Matthew M. Johnston, received the Victim Advocacy Award for law enforcement. Please help us in congratulating him for all his hard work and dedication.
