Police assist with Choking Victim

   On 05/31/20 at 1648 hrs., North Middleton Police, Fire and EMS were dispatched to 38 Ridge Ave., North Middleton Township, Carlisle Pa. for a male who was choking.  While Officer's were in route, dispatch advised the patient was now unconscious and not breathing.  2 North Middleton Police Officers arrived.  The first Officer on scene was able to lift the patient from the ground and was performing the Heimlich maneuver, while the second Officer was able to give back blows, dislodging the food causing the blockage.  The patient began to breathe on his own and regained consciousness a short time later.  The patient was transported by Carlisle ambulance to UPMC Carlisle.  He was discharged after being evaluated.
