"What to say? Three officers gone. Two others in critical condition. Here in our neighboring community, York County, PA.

My heart goes out to the two officers fighting for their lives, to their families and to the families of those we lost. We should all have the utmost respect for every single person who puts on the uniform of law enforcement. I have said it before and I must repeat: they put their lives on the line every...single...day to protect what is right, what is good and to protect each one of us. They are a special breed, literally and intentionally putting themselves between us and what would harm us. We are all indebted to them. Every day of our lives. Please. Honor these brave and selfless heroes. All of them. But today, particularly those who we have lost and those who continue to fight to survive. To them I say "Thank you and may God bless you."
