WSRPD INVESTIGATES FATAL PEDESTRIAN VS. MOTORCYCLE CRASH

On Sunday evening, September 29, 2019 around 5:30 pm the West Shore Regional Police Department along with the West Shore Bureau of Fire, Geisinger EMS and Camp Hill Fire Department EMS were dispatched to a Pedestrian vs. Motorcycle crash along South Front Street in the area of Poplar Street in Wormleysburg Borough.

A West Shore Regional Police officer on the way into work came upon the crash and determined that the pedestrian was in cardiac arrest and CPR was started.  This patient was transported to Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital in East Pennsboro Township.

The motorcycle driver was transported to Harrisburg Hospital with moderate injuries.

At this time the identity of both involved parties has not been confirmed.

The Cumberland County Coroners office is also assisting with the investigation and was summoned to the Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital.

Preliminary investigation of the crash reveals that the pedestrian was along the east side of South Front Street and moved into the northbound lane of South Front Street directly in front of the approaching motorcycle when he was struck.
