Mechanicsburg, PA – The Peyton Walker Foundation (PWF), a nationally recognized nonprofit focusing on increasing awareness and survival rates for Sudden Cardiac Arrest, proudly announces the installation of a “SaveStation™” at Lower Allen Park, in collaboration with Community Aid and Lower Allen Township. Lower Allen Community Park will become the first park in the region to install a SaveStation and make an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) available around the clock for park visitors. When someone is in cardiac arrest, minutes matter. Having quick access to a SaveStation with an AED can significantly increase the likelihood of survival.

WHAT: Join us for the dedication of this community SaveStation. We will also provide CPR / AED demonstrations at the event. The Foundation has installed several SaveStations throughout Central PA over the past 5 years, including the Mt. Gretna SaveStation which was credited with housing the AED that was used to save a life in 2023. Most recently, the Foundation installed a SaveStation on City Island in Harrisburg to make an AED available for the tens of thousands of community members who visit throughout the year.
A SaveStation™ cabinet is climate-controlled and keeps the AED within the optimal operating range all year long. The cabinet is not locked and is accessible to use 24/7 by the public. The Good Samaritan Act protects anyone who tries to help in an emergency, so liability is waived for individuals who attempt to provide help during a medical emergency.
