National Move Over Day!

Saturday, October 16th, is National Move Over Day. This day was created to promote awareness to the Move Over Law which is now enforced in all 50 states.

Over the years, 152 Pennsylvania Emergency Responders and 110 Pennsylvania Department of Transportation/Pennsylvania Turnpike Workers have been struck and killed while helping others along the roadways. 262 lives lost, 262 families forever changed.  Many more emergency responders and motorists along the roadway are struck and injured as well.

Attached is a Move Over Info Sheet which explains the enhanced Pennsylvania Move Over Law as well as a Move Over “Fact” Sheet.  The fact sheet is updated after each United States emergency responder struck-by death. Please do your part keeping our emergency responders, PennDot workers and tow operators safe by slowing down and moving over!
