New Online Reporting System for Select Non-emergency Incidents
In an effort to reduce in-person contact during these unprecedented times, and to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the Lower Allen Township Police Department has launched an online reporting system at https://cumberland.crimewatchpa.com/lowerallentwppd/41647/report for select categories of non-active, non-violent crime.
This form is for non-emergency use ONLY and not intended to report serious crimes or crimes in progress. If your report requires response in minutes, hours, or even days, DO NOT USE THIS FORM. Call 911 for emergencies or 717-238-9676 to reach a dispatcher for non-emergency requests. For administrative questions call the office at 717-975-7575 between 8am-4pm, Monday-Friday.
False reporting or the submission of fictitious information will be prosecuted.
Anonymous tips and reports of suspicious activity that is not active should be submitted via the “Submit a Tip” feature in Crimewatch, found at https://cumberland.crimewatchpa.com/lowerallentwppd/submit-tip
The following criteria must be met to use the online reporting form:
- This is not an emergency
- The incident occurred in Lower Allen Township
- The crime is not in progress
- The incident has not already been reported by phone or in person to the police
- The incident occurred more than 30 minutes ago
- There is no evidence or fingerprints to collect
- The incident is not related to vehicle crash involving injury or a vehicle that required towing
Upon submission, you will receive an email indicating that your response has been received. After that, our staff will attempt to contact you within 72 hours. If 5 days have passed and you’ve received no contact from our staff (aside from the initial email acknowledging receipt of the form), please call the appropriate number above.
As this is a new process, please bear with us as we work out procedural details internally.
This form and the acknowledgement of its receipt is NOT a police report. It will be used as the basis for a police report to be generated as time allows.
If you are reporting an emergency or a crime in progress do not use this online webform. DIAL 911 immediately.
