On July 11, 2023, Eric M. Garvey was sentenced to 2-8 years in state prison. Garvey entered pleas to Unlawful Delivery of Fentanyl, a Schedule II Controlled Substance & Involuntary Manslaughter.

Eric M Garvey, 27, was charged with a 2020 accidental overdose death in Middlesex Township, in which Garvey provided the victim with a fatal dose of a controlled substance. 

After a two-year police investigation, Garvey was developed as a suspect and interviewed by Middlesex Township Police Detectives in which Garvey confessed to being responsible for providing the fatal illegal controlled substance to the victim.
