Police Officer Delivers Baby Girl
Middlesex Police Officers often respond to ambulance calls to provide comfort and care to patients and to help Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) if needed. When Middlesex Officer Robyn Von Lumm was the first to arrive at the Rodeway Inn September 30, 2021, to assist with a young mother in labor, it was obvious that she would not just help, but take the lead in delivering a baby. Although Officer Von Lumm had been an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), she had not delivered a baby- until then. She used all the First Aid and EMT training she had to help deliver a beautiful, healthy baby girl. When the EMTs arrived, they took over the care and transportation of mother and child to the hospital for evaluation and further care. Officer Von Lumm said it was an amazing experience, and she is glad she could help.
