On June 28, 2021 at approximately 5:45 p.m., a shooting took place in the parking lot of the Camp Hill Swimming Pool in Siebert Park in Camp Hill. The victim, Luis Rodriquez, of Harrisburg, PA, was shot while seated in his parked vehicle in the parking lot. The accused shooter is 24 year old Edwin Sosa-Jimenez, AKA Yogui, of 2415 N. 6th St. Harrisburg, PA.
Camp Hill Police allege that Sosa-Jimenez followed the victim, Rodriquez, from Harrisburg to the Camp Hill swimming pool. Rodriquez was accompanied by Tanja Reynolds, also of Harrisburg. Luis Rodriquez and Tanja Reynolds were seated in Rodriquez’ automobile when Sosa-Jimenez pulled into the parking lot and parked the green Honda CRV he was driving behind Rodriquez’ car, got out, confronted Rodriquez, who was still seated in his car, and shot six (6) rounds at Rodriquez. Tanja Reynolds had exited the vehicle, then Rodriquez drove off, eventually driving himself to Holy Spirit Hospital. Rodriquez was struck by at least one round from a .40 caliber handgun, however he did not incur life threatening injuries. He was treated and released from Holy Spirit Hospital later that night.
Camp Hill Police have been actively investigating this shooting since the initial call on June 28th. Frequent communication and cooperation with the Cumberland County DA’s Office, Harrisburg Police and other Dauphin County Agencies resulted in establishing enough evidence to obtain probable cause that Sosa-Jimenez was the shooter.
Today, August 3, 2021, in Harrisburg, an arrest warrant was served on Sosa-Jimenez, and search warrants were executed at his residence and the vehicle suspected of being driven in the course of this crime was seized.
Camp Hill Police were assisted in these actions by Harrisburg PD, the Dauphin County Special Response Team and the U.S. Marshalls Middle District of PA Fugitive Task Force.
