Following a jury trial in front of the Honorable Judge Christylee Peck on July 20, 2023, Ernesto Murillo was convicted of Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a Child Less than 13,  Statutory Sexual Assault, Corruption of Minors, and Solicitation to Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a  Child Less than 13. West Shore Regional Police Department learned that Murillo solicited a child, who was approximately 12 years old, to engage in sexual conduct. Following the solicitation, Murillo performed oral sex on the child’s anus. At trial, the victim testified about the assault and there was also evidence was presented that Murillo admitted to performing the act when he was confronted by the child’s guardian.

The District Attorney's Office praises Detective Nikki Sheaffer and the West Shore Regional Police Department for their diligent investigation of this incident.  The case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorney Lauren Perchinski.  Sentencing is scheduled for October 24, 2023.
