On Monday January 30, 2023, a jury trial began in front of the Honorable Judge Christylee Peck. On Wednesday February 1, 2023, the jury found Anthony Beckem Jr. guilty of Rape by Forcible Compulsion, Rape of a Child, Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a Child Under 16, Attempted Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Attempted Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Solicitation of Involuntary Sexual Deviate Intercourse, Strangulation, Incest of a Minor, Aggravated Indecent Assault, 3 counts of Corruption of Minors, 4 counts of Indecent Assault, 3 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Simple Assault. The investigation began after a tip to police that Beckem was sexually abusing multiple children. Following that tip, an investigation revealed that Beckem had subjected three juvenile victims to ongoing sexual abuse, and that his crimes spanned nearly a decade.
Following trial, Judge Peck modified Beckem's bail to $1 million dollars and sentencing is scheduled for May 2, 2023 at 9:30 am. District Attorney Seán McCormack said, "We are pleased with the verdict and thankful for jury's attentiveness during trial. Thank you to the Hampden Township Police Department for their hard work and diligent investigation. I'd also like to commend Senior Assistant District Attorney Lauren Perchinski for her prosecution of this case."
