On July 30, 2025, following a three (3) day trial before the Honorable Christylee L Peck, a Cumberland County jury convicted John H. George II (age 39) of Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a Child Under 16 (F1), Unlawful Contact with a Minor (F1), Aggravated Indecent Assault of a Child Under 16 (F2), Aggravated Indecent Assault Without Consent (F2), Sexual Assault (F2), Corruption of Minors (F3), Endangering the Welfare of a Child by Parent or Guardian (F3), Indecent Assault of a Child under 16 (M2) and Indecent Assault Without Consent (M2). During trial, the jury heard powerful testimony from the teenage victim who detailed sexual abuse by George. The victim, who was George’s stepdaughter, described various sexual acts including George performing oral sex on her and touching her vagina with his hands. The victim endured the abuse for approximately three (3) months before disclosing the abuse to her mother.
Sentencing is scheduled for November 10, 2025. Prior to sentencing, George will undergo an evaluation with the Sexual Offenders Assessment Board. Because of his convictions, Geroge will be required to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his lifetime.
