Commonwealth v. Corey L. Johnson: On 9/29/2023, officers were working a trafficking/prostitution detail at the Holiday Inn Express located at 6325 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050 (Hampden Township) to engage persons looking to pay for sexual acts. During this detail, defendant, later identified as Corey Johnson, communicated with an undercover officer, and conveyed that he wanted to engage in sexual acts. Johnson offered and paid for the proposed sexual act with a combination of marijuana, alcohol, and money. On June 7, 2024, plead guilty before Cumberland County Judge Jessic Brewbaker to Patronizing a Prostitute and Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana. He was sentenced to 12 months supervised probation.
This case was part of an ongoing effort to reduce human trafficking in Cumberland County. Through efforts of Hampden Township Police and the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office, several arrests were made as part of this operation.
