Defendant Edwin Ruben Sosa Jimenez pled guilty today to one count of Criminal Attempt to Commit Homicide during a hearing today before the Honorable Judge Christylee Peck.
The charges in this case stem from a shooting that occurred at the Camp Hill Borough Pool on June 28, 2021. On that day, the Defendant drove from Harrisburg to the Camp Hill Borough Pool to confront the victim regarding a dispute. The dispute escalated to the point where the Defendant fired six shots at the victim, at least one of which grazed the victim in the head. The Defendant then fled the scene. The victim suffered minor injuries and was released from the hospital the night the shooting occurred.
The Defendant was identified and later apprehended after an exhaustive month-long investigation conducted by the Camp Hill Borough Police Department and the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office, with some assistance from several other law enforcement agencies. The investigation also confirmed that the shooting location was random and no threat relating to this incident exists to Camp Hill Borough residents.
Sentencing is currently scheduled on September 13, 2022 before Judge Peck.
A sincere thank you to the Camp Hill Borough Police Department for their hard work in bringing this case to a successful resolution.
