The East Pennsboro Township Police Department competed in a Hoagies for Heroes event yesterday at the Grand Opening of the Wawa located at 100 Metropolitan Way, Enola, PA.
This Police vs. Firefighter Hoagie building contest saw its share of flying lettuce as contestants braved the cold, wind, and nearly "sub-freezing" temperatures to determine who could build the most hoagies in the allotted time. In the end, the Police Department prevailed with 30 hoagies completed.
In addition to bragging rights and a trophy, the Police Department selected the East Pennsboro Education Foundation, to receive a $1,000 donation from Wawa for the Department's participation in the event.
Thanks to Wawa for their generosity, and our fellow emergency responders for their spirited competition.
Have a safe day.
