On 07-11-2022 at approximately 2309 Newville Police responded to a burglary call on West Big Spring Ave. A neighbor reported seeing a light on in his neighbor's garage who was currently on vacation. Newville PD arrived on scene and searched the area but, no intruder was located. Newville PD spoke with the property owners who reported a smoker/grill and a swimming pool were stolen. On 08-23-2022 Newville PD received information that Chase Hartman (24) was seen unloading the stolen items at his residence at 5161 Path Valley Rd Fort Loudon PA, 17224. Subsequently, Newville Police along with the assistance of Chambersburg Pennsylvania State Police executed a search warrant at Hartman's residence. The stolen items were recovered and an arrest warrant was issued. 09-19-2022 Franklin County Sheriffs department took Hartman into custody. 09-21-2022 Hartman was arraigned in front of MDJ Cohick.
