On the first Tuesday of August, the Newville Police Department along with agencies around the country hold their National Night Out. This practice has been held annually since 1984 in some jurisdictions. The Newville Police Department started their tradition in 2010.

The event is held in front of the police department at 27 West Big Spring Ave. from 6-8pm. This is a no cost event that includes free food, prizes, games, inflatables, music and activities for families.

The event is held to promote strong police/community relationships and to educate the community on police and first responder practices and equipment.  Multiple agencies and some businesses have displays erected to view their equipment or provide family activities or giveaways.

The National Night Out is entirely funded by the local business community. We greatly appreciate their help and look forward to a continued great relationship with the following businesses and organizations:
