On Wednesday October 7th, 2020 at 0747hrs Newville Police were dispatched to an auto accident in the area of East Main Street in Newville. Upon arrival Officers noticed two vehicles with disabling damage. Officers identified the driver of the striking vehicle as Tony Wise (49) of Carlisle. Officers noticed Wise's eyes were blood shot and glassy and that his pupil's were constricted. Officers concluded that Wise struck a parked SUV and drove it 30 feet from the point of impact.
Newville Police conducted field sobriety on Wise and he was taken into custody for driving under the influence. K9 Lock was utilized for a Narcotics scan of Wise's vehicle. K9 Lock alerted on Wise's vehicle, Officers found 3 syringes with suspected meth inside of Wise's vehicle along with drug paraphernalia. Officer also found a baggie of suspected meth in Wise's wallet.
Wise's legal blood showed positive findings of Amphetamines 140ng/mL and Methamphetamine 170ng/mL. Wise was charged with the following, Title 75 3802d2 Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, Title 75 3802d1i Schedule 1 controlled substance, Title 35 780-113a16 Prohibited acts; penalties, Possession and Title 35 780-113a32 Drug Paraphernalia and Title 75 3309 Driving on roadways laned for traffic.
