On Thursday, August 27, 2015, a theft was reported to the Shippensburg Police Department, to which a debit card was stolen and used to make an unauthorized purchase at the Dollar General Store, located at 486 East King Street. Upon investigation, it was found that Rininger stole the debit card from the victim's purse and used it to make an unauthorized purchase for $56.45 dollars on Wednesday, August 26, 2015.

Rininger was charged with Access Device Fraud and Theft by Unlawful Taking. 

On said date, at approximately 7:00 P.M., the Shippensburg Police Department was dispatched to 40 Cumberland Avenue for an unauthorized use of vehicle in progress. Upon investigation, it was found that a 16 year old female juvenile took her mother's car keys and drove her mother's vehicle partially down Cumberland Avenue without permission before the mother was able to stop the vehicle. The juvenile also intentionally damaged the front door of their residence, valued at $398.00. 

While on patrol I pulled onto the parking lot of Sheetz and noticed two male subjects trying to wake up another male that was sitting at one of the tables outside the store.  The sleeping male was later ID as 19yro John McCLERNARD.  McCLERNARD appeared very intoxicated. He kept falling asleep, had slurred speech when he talked.  I was able to obtain a PBT reading of .278% BAC.  EMS was called and McCLERNARD was transported by ambulance to the Chambersburg Ho

SPD was dispatched for a white Nissan sedan parked in a handicap reserved space without a plate or placard.  Police issued a citation and called for a tow truck.  After the tow truck operator had the vehicle hooked, the owner/operator of the Nissan (19 year old Chance BITTINGER) exited a nearby house.  During the conversation police determined  he had been consuming alcohol and issued him another citation, this one for Under age drinking.

Sometime over the summer, suspect(s) did enter a residence in the first block of North Penn Street and remove two bicycles along with a box of pots and pans. The person responsible for the bikes, said his roommates were in and out all summer but, thought it was within the last two weeks. Anyone with information is asked to contact Shippensburg Police Department.

On July 29 , 2015 the Pennsylvania State Police, Carlisle Station served an arrest warrant for Shippensburg Police Department on a Robert HAUBERT as a result of assisting  Daniel RUSSELL with stealing a motorcycle and an all terrain vehicle from rental storage unit located at Sherman and Martin Avenues, Shippensburg Borough.  The items were later recovered from HAUBERT's property.  HAUBERT was taken to Cumberland County Booking and arraigned before MDJ Paul FEGLEY.  Bail was set at $15,000, Robert was later released as bail was posted.

On July 30, 2015 Christy RUSSELL was arraigned on additional charges of burglary and related crimes as a result of breaking into rental storage units at Sherman and Martin Avenues, Shippensburg Borough.  Christy was arraigned before MDJ H. Anthony ADAMS Office and bail set at $10,000.  Christy remains incarcerated on the previous charges filed by Shippensburg Police Department for breaking into a storage unit in Shippensburg Borough, Franklin County.

On 8/15/15 at 0003 HRS, SPD investigated a noise complaint at 126 N. Prince St.  Renters Whitley AMBROSE and Mitchell BEATTIE were charged with Disorderly Conduct for unreasonable noise (2nd offense) as a result of a large party they hosted.

On 8/23/15 at 0042, 18 year old Andrew SCHWENK of Hershey, PA opened and ate a bag of beef jerky at Sheetz, then left without paying for the item.  During the investigation SCHWENK had his wallet open to pay for the food (which was too late) and when asked if he had ID on him he claimed he did not.  Police observed his PA License in his open wallet.  When searched, police found an additional stolen drink and a Miller Lite beer in his back pack.  Sheetz opted to file civil

Shippensburg Police received a report of a stolen vehicle that occurred sometime between 20:30 on Monday August 17 and 07:30 on Tuesday August 18.  The vehicle is a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier coupe, green in color with (PA) registration JWP9272.  The vehicle has gray colored bumpers and there is a faded decal on the hood. 

On 5/1/15, Shippensburg Police were investigating a fight that occurred in front of the above residence.  Police located a suspect, 20 year old Taylor Charles HENRY hiding on a roof.  He was under age drinking and used his twin brother's name and social security number (only being 1 digit apart).  HENRY forged his brother's signature on a confession and again on a non-traffic citation.  The investigating officer learned of another investigation involving HENRY regarding alleged thefts from multiple Wal-Marts and provided the investigating police agenc

Sometime between 0200 - 0220, someone stole a blue and black backpack containing personal documents belonging to Calvyn HOOPER of Walnut Bottom.  HOOPER set it down outside Sheetz while he went inside.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Shippensburg Police.
